Join us in making a difference

At Capel Village Hall, we believe in the power of community involvement. Whether you’re a resident, a supporter, or someone who cares deeply about the well-being of our local area, there are several ways you can make a meaningful contribution.

From becoming a Member of the CCA to volunteering your time and skills, or even taking on a leadership role as a Trustee, your participation can shape the future of our community centre. Find out how you can play a vital part in nurturing our vibrant community.

Residents and users of the Village Hall are welcome to become Members of the CCA. Our members maintain an active interest in the Village Hall providing guidance and help for ongoing activities.

All registered Members can attend key Annual or Extraordinary meetings, contribute, and vote on the matters on the agenda for those occasions including the overview of the Trustees performance and fulfilment of the CCA CIO Objectives.

Membership of the CCA is not binding on the individual and currently there is no associated cost or charges. To register for Membership simply print off and complete the membership form, we will then process your application, review against the criteria and if accepted confirm your membership within four weeks of the application.

In addition to becoming a member your help with many tasks and undertakings the Capel Community Centre must manage would be invaluable. Whatever your experience we have roles to suit everyone, from administration, practical maintenance to providing a helping hand at our events there are opportunities for you to contribute promoting the wellbeing of the community.

Becoming a Volunteer has no legal commitment on your part but does require an obligation to act in accordance with the CCA’s working practice, health, and safety requirements. You can also find out more about becoming a Volunteer through GOV.UK https://www.gov.uk/volunteering

To register as a volunteer for the CCA complete the membership form, and indicate you wish to also become a Volunteer, when we receive your application a member of the Trust will be in touch to discuss how you wish to become involved, availability and opportunities to help.

The Capel Community Association simply would not work without those who become involved, people like you coming forward to take up the challenge of becoming a Trustee. The scope and timeframe of our undertaking means we need to ensure the Trust is governed to the highest standards over many years and thus there is a requirement for a key number of Trustees be to in post to ensure continuity and smooth running of the CCA.

As a trustee you will be able to use your skills and experience and have a direct influence over a cause you care about. It is a rewarding role, and an opportunity to learn leadership and organisational capabilities as well as hands on experience and practice in running our facilities, but there are responsibilities meaning you will need to give up enough time to help our charity succeed. You can find out more about becoming a Trustee on the Charity Commission website https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-essential-trustee-what-you-need-to-know-cc3

Please ensure you consider the information provided by the Charity Commission, if you believe you have the time and passion to become a Trustee of the CCA, complete the membership form and indicate your desire to join our team as a Trustee. We will contact you to facilitate an initial informal discussion and determine with you the next steps. All applications will be considered against the Charity Commission guidelines and appointments subject to Trustee places available at any given time and Trustee Board approval and recommendation for Membership sanction.
